Adventures in Napa, Part III

The Final Installment! Yay! Whew. This week has been super busy and will continue to be busy until next Tuesday when I leave for Virginia.

When I leave on Tuesday I will have: completed two midterms, a bachelorette party, a bridal shower (which I’m baking for), moving, laundry and packing. Please, shoot me now. Or just start shipping caffeine my way. Please and thanks.

Anywho, our last two stops were Dean and Deluca the V. Santtui Winery. For those of you not in the know about Dean and Deluca (and I was until I went):

Clearly, they are Purveyors of Fine Food, Wine and Kitchenware. Poking around a little bit the stored seemed about on par with other upscale grocery stores.

Lots of fun things. See the lady in the pink shirt? That’s their cheese counter. That’s where I learned the difference between Brie and Camembert cheese. The difference? Fat content. Camembert has more of it. At least this is what the girl at the counter told me. So take it with a grain of salt.

They also had this interesting looking fruit:

Yellow Sweet Limes? What? Limes are green! Has anyone tried these? I’m definitely kicking myself for not getting some.

Then there was the bakery counter:

Yum!

Our last adventure was right across the street at the V. Santtui Winery, which was very pretty:

I wish I could say the same for the guy that served us while we were tasting the wine. He came off very rude and didn’t seem interested in actually serving us. Which is obnoxious and sad since I was going to buy this bottle of wine that tasted JUST LIKE STRAWBERRIES. Except it had no strawberries in it. It was very cool. But he was a butt so neither I or my parents bought any wine.

And that, my friends, was my adventure in Napa.

Next up is my adventure with French Macarons.
