New Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have recently found a new go to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Before I had just been using the recipe on the back of the toll house bag. While the Toll House recipe isn’t BAD it was never something I just couldn’t turn down. These however are just amazing, I found them from the equally amazing Bakerella.

When I had my boyfriend try these cookies I asked him which he liked better these or the ones I normally made, he chose these and everyone since then has told me how amazing these cookies are. One of my roommate and her boyfriend also declared that they were amazing (her boyfriend make the stipulation that they would have been better if she made them :P). And even for me, someone who doesn’t have a giant sweet tooth, can’t ignore these cookies.

Chewy and wonderful shade of brown. The biggest difference in these cookies is the sugar content. Its still a cup and a half but its split up differently. There is a whole cup of brown sugar and a half cup of white sugar. I loooove brown sugar. I like playing with it. I’m weird. I know. The toll house cookie is half brown sugar and half white sugar. So these have a slightly different taste and texture. But I totally love them.

Simply Amazing. There are no words to fully describe the brown sugary chocolatey goodness

Chocolate Chip Cookies
 Once again from Bakerella

2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt with a wire whisk and set aside.
  • With a mixer, beat butter and both sugars until well blended.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Add flour mixture in two additions until combined.
  • Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips.
  • Use a mini ice cream scoop to drop cookie dough on a parchment covered cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Tip: About half way through baking, sprinkle reserved chips on top of cookies. This is just to make them prettier so, some of the chips are seen on top. (I didn’t do this. I will probably try this out at somepoint…when I develop that skill of patience.)
